I'm used to Tivo and still learning the 942. How do I get it to record one program at a specific time every day? I searched for Guiding Light (for my wife so no jokes :) ) I typed it in and up came Guiding Light on 62 (sat1), 62-1(sat2),and 8032. How do I get it to record just one of them automatically or do I have to manually delete each new searched entry?

I hope this makes sense, I just don't want to have 3 Guiding Lights on my DVR each day.
Thanks,
Joe

You can under options, select set channel . You then type in what channel you want it to record on and it will only record on that channel when it airs.

Easiest way to do this is when the show comes on hit the record button, then select tv2, then down to options, to recurring timer, and then new episodes only and exit out after that. The show will record on tv 2 side of the reciever freeing up your side.

The other option is to hit the dvr menue key, select my recordings, select schedule, select timers, select manual, select dvr, select mon - fri, select the channel, then select create timer, and then select the start time and end time and be sure to set am/pm.

OK, I'll have to look at it again. It's not as intuitive as Tivo that's for sure but then again Tivo isn't HD......

I tried the choosing channel option but when recording Rome for example a bunch of other Rome episodes pop up in my upcoming recording guide that have a line through them whereas other programs that I've done the same thing with, only show the one program on the specific channel I specified......
