Question? output ports on 1000.2

Resently installed 1000.2 dish to replace old 1000. When hooking up the 2 wires to my 622, I used port 1&2. Got a error when running check switch, only 1 output. Moved wires to port 2&3, ran check switch, everything ok. Question: Do I have a bad LNB or must you use port 2&3 when running 1 receiver? I did not plug into the sat. in port.

You should only run one wire from the LNB to the 622 and use the Dish separator to split it to the Sat1 & Sat2 inputs on the back of the 622.

Was able to pull installation instructions from the internet, port 1 was sat in. Just the opposite of the DP+

The instructions I have (DISH_1000.2_Installation_Guide_(_151255)[4]) show:
Port 1: 119
Port 2: 110
Port 3: 129
Port 4: Input
that is when hooking up to a switch.

The way they have mine set up is Ports 1-3: Output, Port 4: Input.
My Port 1 is going to a 722, Port 2 to a 625 and Port 3 to a 501.

since he already had both lines there why not use them?

Separators rarely go bad. Had 1 in about 2 years die.
