[VOOM] Anyone else lose channels 615/616?

Noticed last night that we had lost them with "Subscribe and
receive..." box in their place. Had watched 615 but not 616 yet.
Did all the usual rebooting, calling CSRs and getting a hit through
the sat. All to no avail. CSR said they weren't aware of a problem
on VOOM's end.

Same problem here. Had been receiving HGTV until yesterday. Have tried both hard and soft reboots to no avail. Also, have never received the 7.26 software as of yet. Called and spoke to a CSR who could only say that I must have the new software to receive these 2 channels--?????Why was I previously getting HDTV if this is the case? And why is it taking so D* long for me to get the upgrade? He also said that the telephone line must be connected to get the upgrade. Well, I don't buy this, and my phone line is connected. Anyone else in this same set of circumstances?

Do the CSR's ever talk? I was missing 615/616 yesterday. He knew immediately of the problem. 'Paired my card', sent a hit. Voila. Worked
fine, took 5 minutes.

I cannot believe a company where 2 different CSR's go from 'I know nothing of this problem' to 'Oh yes, we know of that problem, wait a second'

What's going on? This kind of comment is all through the postings!

The CSR who told you that you need a phone connected to get the download is
full of sh*t. I have heard you need to be on the new download in order to
get 615/616 but that's it. If I were you, I'd unplug 5 mins before you're
ready to go to bed tonight, plug back in and leave it alone till morning and
see if the download happens.

I also think someone on satelliteguys.us said they found a way to force the
download.. not sure about that.

Good luck,

To force the download, go to the Installation Wizard (VOOM, green, green, 7, 1) and select the last menu item "Verify VOOM." Follow the on-screen instructions. This only works if you are already targeted. The download can take up to 40 minutes. Do not interrupt it.

I was having the same problem and the solution is as follows to get it back up. I had to call Voom and ask them to remove all my equipment and to than reactivate them. After that all is working fine.

Hopefully this solves everyone eleses problems too.

I had the same problem and my solution was as follows:

Call Voom and have them remove all your stb. Than have them reactivate all the equipment. Than you should be able to receive the HGTV and Food channel.

I just got off the phone with a Voom CSR and all is working great.

[VOOM] Thanks, Illa and Sean. I should have known to go to satguys but...

was in a rush. Of course, you guys had the answer when some of the
CSRs did not. An email to Bethpage got us back in business and we
were told that the CSRs should have the same info.

Back in business with HGTV and FOOD under rainy Seattle skies, Gill
