RE: [VOOM] New Channels

I'm sure everyone who currently has Voom is thrilled to have the new
channels. I know I would be. I believe everyone is waiting for April to come
around to find out if they're going to be on the air or not. Even if they
are, I won't be rejoining Voom until they release a dual tuner HD Dvr. I'm
also not alone.

[VOOM] Re: New Channels

I would order VOOM tomorrow if they had a DVR. I was at CES 15
months ago and was told "this spring". At CES 3 months ago, and saw
one demoed. (I don't think they would/could fake it since people
much more knowledgeable than i were there.)
I wrote them a couple weeks ago and asked about a DVR.
This was their reply:

Also, we are actively working on and testing our HD-DVR, and we
expect to release this year. However, its exact release date and
pricing have not been set at this time. The VOOM HD-DVR will be able
to record in both high definition and standard definition. It will
also have multiple tuners, allowing you to record a program while
watching a live program or one that you've previously recorded!

This means nothing before the end of the year at the earliest!
In the meantime I'll go w. Comcast since we can rent their HD DVR.
My present HD provider, BEV, doesn't have a DVR either. BEV, next to
VOOM, has the most HD on any North American system available. If D*
offers decent quality HD by the end of the year, may upgrade our
first generation system to HD. (I gather D*'s PQ is not good.)

Robert,
When and why did you leave VOOM, because of the lack of a DVR? Weren't you the gentleman who slammed me when I posted a negative statement about VOOM? I am looking forward to hearing why you dropped VOOM.
