[VOOM] Petition the FCC

If you would like to help Mr. Dolan keep the VOOM satellite from being
sold to EchoStar, then I urge you to email the FCC Chairman Kevin J.
Martin and let him know that we want to keep VOOM, and not feed the
duopoly that DirecTV and Dish Network have. He is supposed to look out
for what is best for the consumer, and this is right on the money.
His email address is: Kevin J. Martin: KJMWEB@fcc.gov

Also copy the email to the FCC Commissioner's:
Commissioner Kathleen Q. Abernathy: Kathleen.Abernathy@fcc.gov
Commissioner Michael J. Copps: Michael.Copps@fcc.gov
Commissioner Jonathan S. Adelstein: Jonathan.Adelstein@fcc.gov

Please pass this along top everyone you know and ask to support this
effort. The more people that respond, the more attention this will
get.

It's worth a try...

This is a copy of the email I sent:

To: KJMWEB@fcc.gov

Cc:'Kathleen.Abernathy@fcc.gov'; 'Michael.Copps@fcc.gov';
'Jonathan.Adelstein@fcc.gov'

Subject: Keep VOOM alive...

This email is a request, as a consumer, to urge the FCC to keep the
satellite service VOOM alive.

Please vote to block the sale of the VOOM satellite to Echostar in
order to prevent the duopoly that DirecTV and Dish network have in
this country.

These 2 companies have done little to further the content of HDTV
programming on their satellites, and VOOM is filling the needs of
consumers and early adopters of HDTV.

Please do the right thing and block this sale to Echostar.

Respectfully,

Fred Mercado
