I currently use SageTV on my HTPC. It has (most of) the Voom listings.
I haven't tried it with Voom, but plan to by end of this week.

[VOOM] Re: VOOM in a PC?

MCE's guide pulls all of VOOM's satellite listings, but provides no
info for the OTA.

My problem is that watching live tv I have to choose to either the
ability to pause, rewind, etc. through MCE, but not in HD mode (then
what's the point of all these HD channels?), or watch in glorious HD,
but without the ability to pause, etc.. Of course, all recordings are
in standard def also:-(

A VOOM PC tuner card would allow HD time shifting, recording, etc.,
and would bring a great competitive advantage to the company.

Robert, thanks for the Whole House Solution pointer.

OK. More vaporware? I have been using Comcast DVR now
for three months. Dual tuner one that just came out. I
love it. BUT!!! I miss the awesome picture that I
received from Voom. Even the crapiest picture I got on
Voom is 10X better than comcasts. I don't under stand
it. I am now torn between the DVR and a great picture!
I am going to hold out for now and keep my dual tuner
DVR with Comcast. I will be watching Voom to see if
they deliver on the DVR. If so, Then Wilt better go a
head and schedule me out a re-installation! Because I
will be coming home to Voom+DVR solution!

Thanks

Doug

[VOOM] Re: VOOM in a PC?

Well, here is a link relating to MS's plans for MCE:

http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=26666&category=main

If anyone in VOOM marketing has half a brain, this could be a big boon
for VOOM and offer a compelling reason for HTPC users to switch to
VOOM from whatever provider they are using now. It shouldn't be so
tough or costly: a third party will be making the PC cards, MS is
pushing MCE, VOOM just needs to facilitate the process and it will
gather a whole bunch of proselytizing converts.

I for one know that I'll jump to whomever is the first out of the
gate. Just wish it is VOOM....
