Want to upgrade to HD-- have a 500 dish now and get 110 and 119
Understand that we will need to get 129
Anyone know how the reception is here? Have read that reception in Northwest is bad.
What size dish will they install with the HD upgrade?

If you have a clear LOS to the East you might try to get 61.5 instead of 129. If you do have to go with 129, insist on a separate 30" dish. I'm just SE of Salem and have had a 30" dish since Spring and it pretty much eliminated dropouts on 129.

129

Live on Oregon Coast. Dish installed a separate 129 dish. Signal is good but still have a few issues with dropouts The drop outs are usually on the lesser rated channels. Picture quality is just outstanding for HD. Make sure they don't let them convince you they can put 110-119-129 all on (1) dish.

thanks for the information-- our dish has to be on the front of the house- to hit the sats---very small yard ---so having a second dish probably wouldn't be an option. We'd just look like a rebroadcast center.
Been with dish since its inception but we may have to go the cable route yuk.
Or direct tv if it takes one dish.
