I was looking at a laptop cooling unit at Costco today and wondered if anyone has tried this to temps down on the units. The only drwback I can see with this cooler is that it seems to run all the time and I didn't know how long they would last. They only cost $25 so cost isn't a factor. It seems the biggest problem the 622s have are the temps running to high and wearing the HDs down.

Laptop coolers won't last long for that application. Check tech sub-forum for discussions in play.

Laptop coolers only cool below the motherboard of the 622/722, most of the heat is above.

I recommend the HomeTheatercooling.com fan.

It is ~$50 but quite, and reliable.

I use one to pull the hot air out of the left side of the unit.

It keeps my temps below 100 degrees.
