Hola,

Im new to the dish network. My parents recently purchased the 522 box.
Is there any way to get the videos I record with the DVR fuction to my computer?

The 522 only has analog outputs. You can NOT access the internal hard disk.

So, recording from the 522 is just like from any other receiver (although easier and more fun - deleting commercials and so forth).

So, to directly answer, just get a PC video capture device.

Is there a way a person could connect some type of splitter (to where the internal hard drive is connected) to have it record to an external hard drive or something? This would allow for additional storage or make it possible to record DVD's or transfer the videos to a computer/laptop so that you can watch movies from the external hard drives when you go travelling.
