Ok so I see the warning that the batteries in my remote are low (yellow), so I change to brand new.

But now I get a "Battery Critical Level" (red)?

How can brand new batteries be critical?? Anyone heard of this? I could not find much under search.

Thanks for the input guys, it is the remote for one of my joeys...highly doubtful its dead batteries right outta the box.

I will try a reset of the Hopper in a little while, watching some basketball.

It could have been the use of rechargable batteries. They are often 1.2V vs alkaline or carbon-zinc batteries at 1.5 V to start with, that is close to the minimum. Glad reboot did it.

I buy Costco brand bulk pack so I don't feel like I have to take out a bank loan to change out batteries. Maybe it is just me, but I think the hopper system remotes need more frequent battery changes.
