Is there a way to copy all of the pre programed and self taught commands from one remote to another? It would sure beat having to teach a new remote everything.

Man that stinks. I hate having to teach the remote.
If you want that kind of convenience, might I suggest investing in a Harmony remote? If one fails, all you do is download the previous remote setting. I currently do not have one, but sure enjoyed the "starter" I used to have.

I totally agree here. I have a Harmony on two of my TVs and they are wonderful.
