As for the news business in the Reno, NV area only KTVN 2 (CBS), KRNV 4 (NBC) and KOLO 8 (ABC) had news outlets at the time. KRXI 13 (Fox) aired simulcasts of KTVU's newscasts from the San Francisco/Bay Area while providing local weather cut-ins for the 10 PM newscasts.
