RNC In HD==NO

DNC in Yes

From what I understand Dish didn't have an HD feed for the RNC.

If you have a local PBS station OTA - it has an HD feed, though with commentary.
Surprised Dish only added SD channel. We already have CSPAN for that...

Really disappointed

Charlie remember this republican pays you $250 a month and will gladly take his money to direct tv, that is ridiculous to be so lopsided in politics.

Friends don't let friends sleep with Republicans.

Borrow, spend, borrow, borrow, spend, spend, spend, spend.

E* did not subscribe to the HD pool feed offered by Game Creek Video Northstar HD truck. The RNC is available in HD. Check your local listings for stations carrying the live feed.

Democratic National Convention contracted and paid DISH $$money$$ to be the official high-definition satellite TV-service provider and the RNC could of contracted and done the same.

Dish Named Official Satellite Provider for Democratic National Convention
The Democratic National Convention Committee Tuesday named Dish Network as the official high-definition satellite TV-service provider for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Denver Aug. 25 to 28.

Dish Network will bring live satellite video feeds into the convention hall from off-site locations across the country. The satellite provider will also offer uninterrupted, unedited live satellite convention coverage to its 13.8 million subscribers across country, available on Channel 211.

In addition, Dish Network’s video feed will be broadcast in HD on television monitors throughout convention venues and will be made available via satellite to television stations for downlink across the country and around the world.

For those not subscribing to the expensive HD pool feed, the COA is providing its own SD feed for $500, Pennoyer said, which will include original footage, some video from the HD pool, a Spanish translation, and a closed captioned version.

They had it out there for a little bit. Both of these changes were on 8/29.

Channel Renames:
211 - DNC08 - Echostar6 72.7W TP 27 ConUS beam renamed to RNC08 (A)
211 - DNC08 - EchoStar8 110W TP 10 ConUS beam renamed to RNC08 (A)
9445(211) - DNC08 - EchoStar3 61.5W TP 16 ConUS beam renamed to RNC08 (A)
9445(211) - DNC08 - EchoStar5 129W TP 13 ConUS beam renamed to RNC08 (A)

Then

Channel Renames:
9445 - RNC08 - EchoStar3 61.5W TP 16 ConUS beam renamed to TMP13 (NA)
9445 - RNC08 - EchoStar5 129W TP 13 ConUS beam renamed to TMP13 (NA)

The SD feed is garbage, bordering on unwatchable quality, like a bad public access broadcast. I attempted to watch it last night, but the sound kept going from low to high to low that I had to switch over to the MSNBC coverage, and when that happens, it has to be bad.
