Can you with your program determine the resolution used for each channel (720P, 1080I etc).
If so, it yould be interesting to have that info in a listing somewhere.

The channels are encrypted. So no, you'll have to find a user with a R5000 mod receiver to tell. But if I remember right I remember hearing several folks say Bev runs most of their stuff at 720p.

Except for very few channels - CBC, CBS, PBS, WGN - all BEV HD channels are 720/60p.

From time to time they experiment with different resolution: beginning this year TMN was jumping between 720/60p, 1080/60i and 1280x1080/30p.

Bitrate can differ dramatically: from sub-10Mbps on PPV HD (almost always) to 10-12Mbps on TMN/MC, to ~12-15Mbps on VOOM channels and HDNet, Discovery (not always), to 17Mbps+ on CBC (Olympics, Oscar, etc.).
