Welcome to another SatelliteGuys LIVE Retailer Chat Recap!

This chat is done in near realtime, I am watching via a Slingbox unit and can rewind and pause video to capture still shots.

As always we only report items of interest to you the consumer. We do not report dealer sensitive items such as costs or other sensitive items.

We hope you enjoy our coverage here at SatelliteGuys.US, we are the only site to bring you these recaps and we enjoy being able to bring them to you!

The chat will begin shortly, and this thread will be open for discussion after the first update is posted!

Welcome to SatelliteGuys!

Jim is shown on Camera and he tells us Steve is not with him today and he is feeling very lonely. Jim then teases that he found a new co host with a head who you haven't seen in awhile. With that Jim welcomes back Amir Ahmed who left Dish a few years ago.

They go over todays agenda...

They start talking about the Tivo Lawsuit. Dish has received a stay from the courts and believe they will get a permanent stay. Dish engineers spent a year working around their patent. Retailers can continue to sell DVRs and consumers will continue to enjoy their Dish DVR's.

Amir starts talking about HD locals. Slides are shown of locals that have launched and that are coming.

Jim and Amir joke about Texas towns and fact and figures about those towns.

Talking about the Digital Television Switchover... nothing interesting here..

Jim says the laws change on Saturday...

Jim talks about All American Direct and the distant networks. He tells retailers to watch a replay of last nights Charlie Chat for all the details.

Now they go into talking about promotions...

Still going over on how to sell the new promotions which were announced at Team Summit. Nothing new here at all.

Showing ads about why Dish is better then DirecTV.

This is scaring me... stop focusing on DirecTV folks go back to picking on cable. Your taking your eye off the ball.

This months Dish Network Product of the month for retailers is a plastic Dish Network Pizza Cutter....(I kid you not)

Now Amir tosses it over to Leslie Harper who is eating a slice of Pizza cut with the Dish Network Pizza Cutter. :)

Leslie jumps in and starts talking about the 922 she goes over the features.

Then talks about the TV2 IR Converter she shows us a few wiring diagrams.

She shows us new 5.4 and 6.4 remotes which are now shipping.

And with that Leslie tosses things back to Jim. Jim asks a Sling question to Lelie which Leslie easily answers without breaking a sweat.

Thanks for joining us here today at SatelliteGuys.US!

Jim says the laws change on Saturday...

Is it possible that some of the guys who argue about tiny details in the DVR patent law could look at the Distant Networks law and predict the changes Saturday ??

WHY did make the IR converter feed back thru the coax instead of just having an antenna in it and send the signal "over the air" just like an actual remote????

Just screw an antenna to it and I bet it will do that. The backfeed method works better in most cases.
