Returning remotes with upgrade

I have a 522 and 622. Well my 522 decided to die tonight. I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade since they have to send me a new receiver anyway. Do I have to send the remotes for the 522 back with it? I know the same remotes control my 522 and 622 I would assume they would also work on the 722. I would like to keep them if I could. Would dish charge me some ridiculous fee if I did not send them back?

Id guess techs never have taken the remotes back, they either use them for other homes as back ups or leave them with the costumers.

Keep the remotes... they don't care about them.

You can ask them to make sure, but normally they let you keep remotes and cables, which is nice.

Yeah, I've ended up with 5 extra remotes because they let you keep them. I love that because I can have extra UHF remotes in my mirrored rooms.
