What was he thinking?! He was a 30-year old free agent, is married and has 4 kids. I would imagine he wants to be able to take home a paycheck. If the Patriots wanted him, they would've signed him. I don't think Colvin had the pleasure of picking the perfect destination. He was limited to the options that were available.
