running cable thru a 522? Dont care about recording...

I moved into a new place with NLOS lol, anyway im keeping my 522 and just paying the no use fee. anyway my little tv sucks and wont tune all my cable chs.
I tried running my cable thru my 522 to use as a tuner but it didnt work. Whats the trick guys?

If you have it hooked up through TV/antenna in, then it'll pass through the modular output. (Dunno if there's a tuner on it, doubt it)

na, it doesnt even pass...maybe if i turn it off, but if no tuner, its no use...ill buy a 20 dollar vcr.

No trick to it. It just won't do it. Best bet is to buy a cheap VCR and use that to tune your channels.

LOL....well i suppose i COULD walk out to my truck and open a receiver up and read the manual....but that would be too difficult. i figured it was just a pass thru like useing anoff air antenna, but yano i had to give it a shot.
Its like the dish pro "splitter" i read about on another thread..ive been doing the DP+ lnbs since they came out and have never used one...or even heard of it. never had a problem with a DL or software...
