Russian Jet Carrying Hockey Team Crashes

Pavol Demitra was the only name I recognized.

Tragic indeed.
 
I believe Brad McCrimmon was the head coach of that team. Or perhaps that was last year?

Alexander Karpovtsev also on the plane...he was on the 1994 Rangers Stanley Cup team...so sad.

On the Broncos board, someone posed this question - What if it was YOUR NFL teams plane that crashed and everyone died??

Imagine the Patriots/Jets/Raiders/Steelers team plane going down....

How would that affect you as a fan? How would it affect the league? How would our team rebuild, and what impact would that have?
 
I read many years ago that our leagues do have contingencies in place should such a tragedy occur. In most cases they would have a draft of players from other teams in an attempt to get the team functional in a short period of time.
