I just bought an SG2100 from sadoun.I install it on a plumb pole and i have the fortec 1.2 meter dish.I set my true south which is telstar 5.My lat=36.1n my long=94.1w.I set the latitude on the motor to 36 and i set my dish elevation to 24.I went into my setup of my pansat 3500 and chose telstar 5.I put in my long and lat numbers.I chose ucals and go to reference which was zero and then i hit move 3.3 degrees. The motor went all the way to the west on the motor and stopped.I tried to manually make the motor go back east but it will not move.I did a reset and it still will not move. The green light is on the motor but i cannot get it to do anything.Anyone with a suggestion

How long is your cable? do you have any switches/amplifiers on your cable between the motor and the receiver?

Thanks guys finally got it to go back to zero.Is the FORTEC STAR FC120CM to heavy for this motor? It looks so small with the dish mounted on it.Anyone using the SG2100 and this dish without problems

Its made to be able to handle a Dish up to 1.2m in size.

Help no quality signal SG2100 and fortecstar 120 dish

Hi i just installed a new Fortec 1.2 cm dish and a SG2100 motor. My true south is telstar5.when i am the dish to tel 5 or any other satellite i get an 85 signal level and a 4 or 5 percent quality level.I have the latitude set on 36 on my motor and my dish is set on 24 for elevation but i cannot get any quality readings on any satellite via usals or disque 1.2.I am thinking the elevations on the fortec 120 dish or mark in corretly and my elevation of 24 is not 24.My lat=36 my long=94.zipcode=72764.Anyone have any suggestions.

I suggest removing the motor from the equation and try to find and store your true south satellite first, that's the way many of us here started!

The below angles are for your area WITHOUT the motor.........

You say you are getting some quality. I'd gently increase your DISH elevation 2 or 3 degrees to start with . See if the quality improves. If you have quality, that , in itself is a good sign. Now you have to optimize it !

Merged your threads, its good idea to keep all your posts here until you are all set up, you will get more help that way and then we know exactly what system you have without having to ask all the time. What kind of LNBF did you get? What L.O. (LNB Freq.)do you have entered in the antenna set up screen?

HI psb i Peaked 97.0w without the motor install with elevation of 47.9 but when i use the motor and set my dish elevation to 24 i do not get quality signal on any sats in the clarke belt.My quality is about 4 or 5 on all sats and my signal level is 80 or more on all sats.I have my lat set to 36 on the motor

Not sure about your motor but my SG2100 has ELEVATION on one side and LATITUDE on the other, make sure its not that!

Concentrate on the southern-most bird until it is right.
You have consistency, I think you need to adjust your dish elevation, while pointed at your southernmost satellite to optimize the quality. It may take 5 or 6 degrees, but do it gradually and see if you can improve on "4-5% " .

I had to increase my dish elevation angle about 5 degrees to optimize my signal. So have a few others, makes me wonder about the dish mounting brackets .

Finally got it to work.I had to change the elevation on the fortec dish it calls for 24 but i had to set it to 30 which is 6 degrees off calculated setting.I am getting 97 level and 99 quality on tel 5

Well i ran into a problem. If i move the dish to g10 the dish will not return to the east. The fortec 120 cm dish is to heavy for the SG2100.I think i need the 50mm tube extension but no one has them in stock. If i go to G10 i have to go outside and use the manual button in push the dish towards the east to make it move this is really a drag. The SG2100 move pretty fast but if i go to G10 or farther west it won't return home.Does anyone have 50mm tube in stock?I think this might solve my problem? On a brighter note i can now watch the pbs station on amc 3 in hd.

Glad to hear you got it working, when setting up a motor the dish elevation can be changed to peak in the signal but the elevation on the motor should never be changed!

Welcome to the our growing " 5 or 6 degrees more elevation" club. One on my weekend roof projects is putting a 360 deg protracting level at my dish and comparing the inclination settings on the scale with the level readout. I'm awfully curious about the cause of the elevation problem and hope it's simply the bracket markings are off ( or inaccurate with a particular dish ) .
