Hi Everyone

I just installed this weekend a 6' Channel Master anntena pointing at sat 61.5 and would like to know if I can fine tune the signal a bit more. I would appreciate anybody in Puerto Rico to post their signal strenght for each TP and equipment being used (dish size & reciver). Also if you don't mind; where in the island are you located and cloud cover at the time of taking tp strenght? Also if anybody has used a signal amplifier between LNB and Reciver coment on you experience.

Location: Caguas PR
Reciver: 722K, 222K and 311
LNB: Cal Amp
Antennas: 61.5 - Channel Master 6'
110 - 5' dish
119 - 5' dish

TP's Strenght for 61.5 with Clear Sky no clouds on sight. Time of Day 10:00am

TP1 = 0
TP2 = 50
TP3 = 0
TP5 = 0
TP7 = 0
TP8 = 52
TP9 = 0
TP10 = 45
TP11 = 0
TP12 = 68
TP13 = 0
TP14 = 60
TP15 = 0
TP16 = 39
TP18 = 47
TP19 = 4 * Might go up at some point in the afternoon up to 11
TP20 = 39
TP21 = 11
TP22 = 40
TP23 = 0
TP24 = 9 * Mught go up at some point in the afternoon up to 14
TP25 = 40
TP27 = 42
TP29 = 48
TP30 = 41
TP31 = 41
TP32 = 39

* I wish their is something I can do to better the strenght for TP 24 because almost all the HBO's in HD are in that transponder.

Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter.

Those are low readings for a six footer. Fine tune using your weakest transponder. Take an small tv and a receiver to the roof. Loose the screws on the lnb mounting base and move it aound and watch the signal strenght, and remember that it takes a while for these new receivers to actually show the signal strenght changes on the screen.I live in Cabo Rojo and I have all the channels lock all day. If remember tonight I'll take the readings...

Hi
I have the same problems as you do, with a CM 6 footer:

TP1 = 0
TP2 = 46
TP3 = 0
TP5 = 0
TP7 = 0
TP8 = 47
TP9 = 0
TP10 = 43
TP11 = 0
TP12 = 62
TP13 = 0
TP14 = 55
TP15 = 0
TP16 = 34
TP18 = 40
TP19 = 12 * Goes from 9 up to 14 at different hours during the day
TP20 = 35
TP21 = 18
TP22 = 30
TP23 = 0
TP24 = 14 * Goes from 9 up to 14 at different hours during the day
TP25 = 37
TP27 = 36
TP29 = 44
TP30 = 33
TP31 = 37
TP32 = 34

I tried to peak it, not much change. I think I need to let some of the stronger TPs (in sat Echostar 3) go down as to help improve the weaker ones (which are in Rainbow 1, a different sat, consistently weaker in PR)

If you live between Cagauas ,Fajardo area the signal strength will be weaker than the west /south west part of the Island no matter what dish you are using,but as Tommy point out your signal strength is a little bit lower even for a 6 footer.

Techno guy would you please post your signal strenght and location. This way I can have a bechmark or target to go after the next time I fiddle with it.

Also to anybody that has played around with signal strenght amplifiers, what has been your experience? I am thinking on using one of these because of all the switches I am using. I am using SW21 and SW21X to combine 3 sats and using 3x4 switches to output to more than 2 recivers. Maybe all this spliting of the cable is causing loss of signal when it finaly gets to the recivers. Distance of the cable between antennas and recivers has to be 50 to 60 feet. Any sugestions on improving signal are welcomed. Maybe switching to DP lnbs and switches, don't realy know, just let me know your expirences with this sat.
