Sat nav/GPS?

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a budget Sat Nav. Anyone had any experience with this one - See lowest price for Garmin Nuvi 255W Auto / Road GPS ? Are Garmin reputable?

Garmin is very reputable, in fact one of the biggest hitters in GPS.

vanderlyle, if you are in UK and if you are going to buy on-line, make sure the GPS unit comes with (or is upgradable to) UK maps.

Good point! The Nuvi 255 has a European model.

Garmin is certainly a good name. Magellan is good, perhaps a step down but also less expensive. At the lower end, I know of people happy with their TomToms.

BTW, that link is not working for me right now. Make sure you're buying from someone reputable.

I've had nothing but good experiences (for the most part) with our Garmins; Magellans also do a pretty good job; I didn't care for Tom Tom (tried my friends), but they too did the job.
