SATA Hard Drive for R22 Capacity

I am looking into getting a SATA External Hard Drive for my Directv R22-100.

Is there a maximum size External Hard Drive my receiver will support.

Anybody have any suggestions on what brand to buy or any suggestions.

I don't really know about the R22, but on my HR20 I am using a 1.5TB internal and have also done it via eSATA just fine.
