Satellite dish for Quito Ecuador

Can any one tell me the size of dish that I would need to set up in Quito Ecuador to pick up US satellites? Can we "see" US satellites from 40 miles south of the equator? Thanks for your help.

Well, all our dish mounts does not allow to shoot into zenith.

Dish satellites do not broadcast to both hemispheres. In fact, each transponder has a lens that restricts the footprint of the signal to mostly the continental USA and nearby surroundings. Other transponders have even narrower lenses that transmit to a small ellipse maybe 200X400 miles only. South America, no.

I'm thinking the OP's HOA, Town, or City has restrictions on Satellite Dish's greater than 60 feet ;>).
