Does any satellite receiver manufacturer ever try to use their receiver as they ship them?

I wonder because for each satellite which has both C-band and Ku-band, I need to have two listings. One listing for C-band and another listing for Ku band.

Yet they list C/Ku satellites only once!
But in the TP listing for the satellite, they list both C and Ku TP's!

Then I go and try to add satellites so I can use both C and KU and find it is a royal pain. With some receivers, you can't add as many satellites as you need due to memory limitations.

Maybe someone here can put a "bug" in the manufacturer's ears and inform them that there needs to be two satellite listings for each satellite which has both C and Ku?

I live on the west coast and need 67 satellite listings for all the satellites I can see. For those living on the east coast, I would imagine this list would be much longer. If they are marketing a receiver for the U.S./Canada, I would think they would include all satellites in the list anyone could potentially see, indicate C or Ku for each listing, indicate circular for circular polarity satellites, and have two listings for each satellite which has both C and Ku.

Also for satellites which have linear and circular, there should be separate listings for each.

FYI - Following is my satelite list...

C = C-band, K = Ku-band, CC = C Circular, KC = Ku Circular
The names are shortened so they will display on the receiver.
I have used names of satellites which will be moving into position shortly.

I updated my box with that software program (I think it's channel master) to basically have the same thing.. blind scanned them as needed and poof you got what you want.. :)

exactly...ChannelMaster is a great tool. Most of my boxes have all the C-band stuff removed but the Pansat 1500 has a fresh list of C & KU satellites listed :)

Further name tuning

I delete those I can't "see" to cleanse my box's palate to have only barebone information. They come back in a factory reset.

My most motor friendly adjustment though was to put a number before the satellite name so they all appeared in a list, in order, east to west.

100 Hisp
101 ...
102 ...

Sorting channels by satellite list the channels east to west and overshooting on the channel changing doesn't force my Stab to motor from SBS6 to G10 on accident. SBS6 at 74 to AMC5 at 79 is a much shorter trip.

I don't like interupting the motor and slamming it back into reverse since it seems to much like using your transmission rather than your brakes to stop and change directions while driving.
