SBC Commun CFO Says EchoStar Bundling Is Paying Off

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The recent addition of satellite TV service from EchoStar Communications Corp. (NasdaqNM:DISH - News) to SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE:SBC - News)'s product bundle has helped stem access line losses, said Randall Stephenson, SBC's chief financial officer.
Speaking at a Merrill Lynch investor conference Tuesday, which was Webcast, Stephenson said bundling has "really moved the needle in terms of access line trends." With the company's bundling strategy playing out, SBC is on pace for revenue growth in 2004, he added. SBC added EchoStar satellite TV service to its product bundle in early March. Under the agreement, which was signed last July, the two companies offer a co- branded service and have integrated order entry, customer service and billing operations.
