scrambled channel woes...

Hey, I'm extremely new to this and am trying to understand the full capabilities of my Coolsat 4000+ so I've got a question. Some channels are coming across with a message on the screen that says "Scrambled Channel". Is this just part of it, or do I have something set wrong. Some of these channels I'd enjoy viewing, but at this moment, I cannot. Anyone got any answers. I'd appreciate it.

those are channels you don't pay for and they should be scrambled.

"what do you want for nothing? rubber biscuit?"
