Anyone else in the Detroit area having problems picking up HD channels on Sat 129, particularly those on odd number'ed transponders? Two weekends of little or poor reception on many of the VOOM channels. Two calls into customer service with little resolution. They said they will notify engineering, and don't believe it is my equipment.

Also anyone out there in Detroit getting 1000+? Any decision on where locals are going?

Thanks

In the area and only able to get 40's on the 1000, put up a dish 500 just for 129. It works much better then the dish 1000. Most transponders are in the 80's now. Waiting for the 1000+ or 500+ to get the locals in HD.

When we upgraded to HD in April 06 (Ann Arbor Area), instead of a Dish 1000 as per work order the installer choose to install a 500 for 129. Have had no problems with reception, but wife not happy over 2nd dish, but is happy HGDD.

I probably installed your dish sonic2000, I worked out of the ann arbor depot.

If anyone is having a 129 issue and they have a dish 1000 in michigan then its because the dish isnt aligned properly most likely or there is a line of site issue. If anyone has two dishes and one is pointed at the 129 then its a tuning issue or a line of site issue most likely again. 129 signal on a d1000 in southern michigan will come in at %70 - %75 average, on a d500 it will come in at %75 - %82 as long as its tuned in correctly and there is no issue with a line of site.

Unfortunately the ann arbor depot has only 3 experienced techs ( longer than 2 years ) and the rest are 7 months or under and dont know jack squat and pretty much hack all the work that they do.

I was the first Dish 1000 installed by the company I used in the Grand Rapids area....... getting 60's- to 70's signal strength on some 129 TPs, but high 40's to mid 50's on some others. TP 22 on 129 noticeably poor.

Not sure a tweaking/ re-aiming will help since some TP's are showing fairly good strength.

I just called Dish regarding frequent signal dropouts with the 129 satellite and they are sending a tech out on Monday and waived the $29.00 fee since I have had the 622 receiver less than 3 months. Anyone else who has had the new receiver for less than 3 months and is experiencing problems with 129, I would suggest you contact them to have your dish repeaked and ask about getting any fees waived.

In the Detroit area, is the 129 satellite or the 61.5 satellite a better option? I have two dishes currently, the second for the 61.5 wing. I though all HD was broadcast on 61.5 and 129...but when the installer comes up with my 622 perhaps he'll swap me out for a 1000+?

Update: I just checked http://ekb.dbstalk.com/129list.htm, is the deal that HD locals will be on 129 for Detroit, when they come, and not 61.5?
