Service address update; new locals guide population timeframe/steps?

After updating the service address when/how will I get the updated locals? Do I need to power down the Hopper unit for a certain amount of time? How long will it take?

It's supposed to take around 10 - 15 minutes or less to get new locals. But if you see no change in your locals by 30 minutes , you need to either call back or do an online chat to get them to turn them on for you.

On the VIP receivers unplugging them or doing a check switch was sometimes needed. I don't if unplugging the Hopper helps to see new channels or not....

I remember someone posting on here a while ago that they made a change to their service address, and the Dish rep said to them "do you want me to switch your locals as well?"...meaning, that it appears that the locals switch may not necessarily be automatic. Perhaps the rep who changed your service address missed the locals step.

We won't even get into it would not be legal for dish to keep your locals if you move to a new DMA...
