dont forget this is *ish
they have 2 different fees for housecalls
30 dollars if you have their protection plan thing a warranty, exact name slips my mind maybe dhpp
90 dollars if you dont have there warranty
after house call problem is solved as far i know the defective parts that *ish replaced that day are then only warrantied for 90 days so if it breaks again in 100 days its on your dime

*ish knows how too sign customers up but many finally get sick of nickel and dime everywhere they turn and go elsewhere

however they could potentially reimburse you but that would entail you dialing 888 # and ask for ert executive resolutions team and they maybe and compensate you but by this time you would have already wasted at least 3 hours on the phone

so you could end up getting minimal reimbursement for no tv but not the TIME it took you to get $

I had a problem with my switch a while back and the tech that I talked to suggested that I buy the warranty even though I already had the problem.
So if they are going to charge you for the service call get the warranty and you get the service call for $29 instead of $90.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, but none of them worked. I guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday.:(

It sounds more like your dish is out of alignment, go to a channel that comes in and then go to the signal screen and tell us what the signal strength is.

If you call back and talk to them about getting a credit for time without service you most likely will get it, most of the customers I had who were without service were able to get a credit, those that didnt were generaly the ones who got out of hand on the phone and treated the csr poorly.

The channels that come in have a signal strength between 80-85. The channels with an even transponder number do not come in. Those with an odd transponder number come in fine.

Your Cox must be different from the one in Northern Virginia. Around here, they'll now charge you for a visit, even if it's there own lines/equipment at fault. And they certainly will not be there the next day. I think it's a profit center for them- they go out so often.

if your receiver's are connected to a powered switch then unplug the power to the switch and wait about 30 seconds and plug the switch back in. A power surge can trip the switch. Happened to me yesterday but I knew what to do and wasn't without picture for 10 minutes.

b/c *ish uses there own overpriced products switches lnb line seperators and so on, then if they go bad more than 90 days after replaced customer foots bill
*ish only seems to warranty their parts for 90 days
recievers tend tobe warrantied for as long as reciever tied to active account

ive had many service calls paying 30 dollars for each one
they included bad switches within 90 daytime frame *ish 500 replace with *ish 1000
129 degree repoint and so on
the only fee theyve waived for me in the myriad of prob, ems ive had is the shipping and handling fee they have when they send replacement reciever

Beg to differ..If a customer is a Dish Home Protection Plan customer, the truck roll fee is $29. All EQ is covered unles the customer has damaged the EQ themselves.

Well, Technician came as promised and replaced the LNB which solved the problem. Tech was here for only about 10 minutes. They are not going to charge me the $29 and I have TV again!!!!

Now I have to call Dish to see if they'll credit me for the 5 days without service.

Will E* ship an lnb to the customer so we can do the swap out ourselves instead of sending a tech in a case like this?
