SHAW DIRECT NEW SATELLITE ANIK G1

I have heard that Anik G1 to be launched this Fall WILL NOT COVER THE USA.Does anyone know if this is true ?
I am in Florida and concerned about it.Additional information on this matter would greatly be appreciated.

If thats true im pretty sure you would not lose any channels you currently have but might not get awhole lot of new ones? If thats correct?

it is true you can see the footprint on Telesats website.

We just have to hope like you said SD won't move the channels we have already.

Incorrect - 3 to 4 transponders will be used for the Canadian standard definition locals that SD does not now carry in order to meet CRTC requirements. The remaining 12 or 13 transponders will be used for HD

Hi Expert so as far as you know the stations that are on the old sat will stay there? What about the HD stations that are there now? I hope we dont lose those. :-(
