"The demand for HD and high-end post-production work is flourishing, but
it can put a heavy strain on production in terms of quality and performance,"
said Ray Carballada, Chief Operating Officer at Shooters Post & Transfer. "We
needed more of the best systems, so we chose fire because it remains the
fastest and best editing suite available for HD and standard-definition post
work. We purchased our first Discreet fire system in 1997, and today own
five."
Shooters Post & Transfer works on numerous HD projects using Discreet's
fire and flame systems, including: Comcast SportsNet's graphics package for
the Philadelphia and Chicago markets; editing of TLC's Trading Spaces; Banyan
Productions' HD conforms; the main titles for CBS drama Hack; HD conforms of
commercial spots and promos airing on Voom, a new HD satellite channel from
Cablevision; and the editing of several independent feature films.
Carballada added, "Our clients want to be in a fire suite for high-end
post projects. They demand that we use fire because it doesn't limit them.
Clients feel comfortable with fire's user-friendly interface that lets you
visualize changes, and its capabilities inspire their creativity. There is no
doubt that fire significantly boosts the level of collaboration we can have
with clients."
