A friend of mine is fed up with his cable company and is looking at satellite alternatives. I'm a long-time (over 10 years) subscriber to Dish and I'm pleased with my 622 and HD programming setup.

I'd like to point my friend at Dish, but would like to know how things have worked in the past. If he signs up for a program between now and late January, will he be likely to get hit with a price increase in February or will the contract he has lock in the price until at least February 2010?

Thanks for the advice.

John

Sure, recruit him but tell him prices will be going up a few dollars in Feb. unless he gets the minimum $19.95 family pack. If he's wanting to change anyway, he may go ahead and you get a few bucks off your bill for a while.
