Living in the Deep South, I have T-storm issues like everyone else. Even with a 96 signal strength, I lose the signal sometimes for up to an hour, depending on the movement of the storm. I have an unused D* three LNB oval dish in my basement. Should I hook it up and use it for Voom until they supply their own larger dish in Oct? Will the D* oval dish help at all with signal strength over the Voom pizza pan?

Yes a bigger dish will help. Dont know about the oval though.

I was thinking the same thing, im in the same situation.... be sure to post here if you see any improvements if you do the switch :)

[VOOM] Re: Should I Self-Install a Bigger Dish?

I did purchase my own 30" dish and self installed it. The 18" dish
that Voom installed would fail (no Voom signal) if there was rain
clouds south-east from me.

I have not seen any rain fade since I installed the 30" dish.

The larger dish did not fix the micro-stutter and STB lock-ups.
Still waiting on a software upgrade to fix those issues.

Currently though, I only watch Voom about 2 minutes per day. Just
enough time to check to see if the new software is here....
