is there any difference in the loss between a diplexer and separator vs a triplexer ?? or very minor? I have a ota and modulator fed and back fed, plus a separator for the dual tuners. just thinking outloud if I use a triplexer would my ota signal be stronger ?? (9 and 11 are vhf now, and I am using a uhf only, 9 is high 70's for signal)

thanks
Joel

A separator for use on dual tuner DVRs should have near zero loss as is a band separator only.
A diplexer or triplexer must feed the same signal to 2 or 3 outlets and thus the best is 1/2 or 1/3 of the current.
There is an additional loss due to matching the impedance but as there are not resistors to common, mostly it's the current split.
You don't get 1/2 the power to each or -3dB, it is more like -4 (at best) to -4.5dB for the diplexer. See the label.
