For those who are unaware of what that term means: significantviewedstations030819.pdf

Significantly Viewed stations require retransmission consent, just like the in-market locals. In addition, there is a requirement that the distributor (Dish) must carry the in-market affiliate before they would be allowed to import the out-of-market Significantly Viewed station. So, for those who are wanting Dish to add these in order to replace any dropped local channels, no they can't do that. As far as when they might actually be added, that is the kind of thing that may come up each time Dish negotiates a new contract with each station. However, it is not likely to happen, since stations seem to be more interested in putting clauses in their contract to prevent Dish from importing out-of-market competition, rather than expanding the station's own service area to include parts of other markets. The stations may even be willing to give a price break to Dish, as long as they guarantee not to import any Significantly Viewed stations into their market. In that case, Dish would happily accept those terms without blinking an eye.
