I currently have a two dish system. A 500 dish that picks up 110 and 119, and a 300 dish that picks up 148 for the HD packages. In order to get local HD programming, I need to pick up the 129 (available in my area). Can I just point the 300 dish at the 129 or do I really need to upgrade to Dish 1000?
Simple soution for local HD??

You sure can!! Without knowing your zipcode/area, I can't give you the EL and AZ settings, but it's just a matter of swinging the D300 from 148 to 129.
Is there any programming available on 148 that isn't on 129? Rather, will he lose any programming swinging 148 to 129?
The only HD that is on only on 148 sat is CBS-HD from LA [9484]. If you move your other dish to the 129 sat you would lose this channel if you had it.
