skip guide update for a night?

I did a search, but I wasn't able to find an answer to my question. I want to record the True Blood marathon tonight. However, when I've tried to record something in the wee hours when my system is scheduled to update, it doesn't record during the update time. Is there a way to skip a night of updates?

Some receivers you can turn it off, while others you can only change the scheduled time. Look under MENU -> SYSTEM SETUP -> PREFERENCES -> UPDATES. I don't believe you can turn it off on a DVR receiver.

Thanks, E*Dude. I looked and there isn't any option to skip on my 722. Maybe, I'll just find a time after the marathon and set it temporarily for then.

If my memory serves me correctly, if you have a recording scheduled during the nightly update, the update is delayed intil the recording is finished, then it runs the nightly update.

Unfortunately, that's not how it's been working for me. When I've set something up to be taped, it stops taping during the update.

I don't think it is supposed to do that... to be on the safe side, change the update time...
