Slaving a Fortec to a Pansat 3500

I have a Pansat 3500 which works great and also a Fortec Mercury II which also works great. The pansat can move the polarity in the LNB but not the Mercury.
That is why I wanted to experiment between the 2.

I have a diseq 4 ports connected to the Pansat 3500. I then connected a cable from the IF OUtput in the pansat into the Satellite-In in the Mercury, but can not get any signal in the mercury. I connected the Mercury to the tv via coax and the pansat into the tv via component cables, so I get the Mercury in channel 3 and the pansat in AUX.

What else do I need to do to move the signal from the Pansat to the Mercury?
Do I need to also make the same port setting (diseq) in the mercury as I have them in the Pansat?

never mind, I got all setting right but by mistake had the wrong lnb type. now the signal goes thru ok.

Can you please post your findings on the differences between these two units? They are two of the three models I'm trying to decide between for my first FTA system.
