"Slim Line" or "Phase3"

I live in Portland Oregon. Which dish (Slimeline or Phase3) will be installed when I subscribe "the Choice package"?

I assume that unless you get HD you would get a Phase III dish (Unless D uses the slimline as a stock install option)

I've seen new Phase III installs here in Minneapolis

As said HD including your LiL HD will require the SlimLine. In my area it has seemingly become the default dish.

I suspect that with a SD-only installation, it would be a 18 in dual-LNB dish, since only 101 is needed.

If you are in a 72.5 market, it ALWAYS is the default dish now. (with ALL the locals migrating to MPEG4 birds)

Since your locals are on 101, most likely you will only get a round (18") dish if you do NOT take HD. The only way you would most likely get a P3 dish, is if you took Spanish or Chinese prog. And, even if you do take HD prog, most likely you'll get a SL3 (as opposed to an SL5) dish, since that is what the D* HSP's are going to for most subs, as most do NOT need 110/119.

Just curious, why DO you want a P3 - again, the only thing that's really on it is Spanish or Chinese prog, but the other internationals will eventually move there as well. Other than that's, it's not going to get you anything else, except for a couple of Spanish/Chinese channels that are free with a prog package.

When I signed up for locals I got the complete HD setup , it was needed for locals.

Maybe you were in a 72.5 (2nd dish) market???
Again, those markets WILL get HD equipment regardless.
