Is Dish still giving away free sling adapters? What do you have to do to get one free? Any contract extensions?

The reason I'm asking is I'm leaving Dish on Monday and wondering how hard it would be to sell one with the free Sling offer.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the free sling adapter promo lasts through 1/31/12.

Ckhalil18 is correct that the promotions will be running through 1-31-12! You have to have a VIP722 receiver active on the account and agree to receive marketing e-mails. You will need to but the sling adapter $99.00 when you purchase through a CSR. The next day you will be able to submit for the rebate on your on-line account. There are no contract extensions to get one. We are sorry to see you go but I have no idea how difficult it will be sell one! Good Luck and we wish you the best in the future!

I'll try to EBay it. I have no problems with Dish Network besides their choice of programing and lack of Sports support. I want to k ow my Local RSN will display in HD every game and still waiting for MLB Network. Two things I care about so since you (Dish) don't offer these it's time to move on. If you get these I shall return.

It takes 6-8 weeks to process the rebate, if you leave Dish befire that time period ends - you should forfeit the rebate.

I was wondering the exact same thing.

To the OP, it's pretty ridiculous that you would take advantage of the system like this. If you're moving on, then move on instead of trying to make more money. Good luck timing it all correctly.

Um, I think he is trying to sell the one he already has. He was asking about the free sling offer because he knows it'll be pretty hard to sell a used one if you can get a new one for free.

What rebate? He just wants to off the Dish gear that he owns, and was wondering if it'll have any value if their giving them away. His post couldn't be any clearer.

Agreed. It could have been significantly more clear.

With that said, OP, I don't think everyone knows about or is taking advantage of the Sling rebate (think people who don't browse the internet to learn more about satellite...). I would consider putting it on Craigslist.
