I am considering a Slingbox and want to know if it can be used to do the following:

• Watch material that I have recorded on the DVR
• Use the QAM tunner to watch unencryptic locals
• Use the USB to watch media files stored on it

Thanks in advance...

Yes you can watch material on your DVR and EHD.
Yes you can use the QAM tuner, but you have to switch inputs between the 622 and the tuner
Did not understand your last question.

I have a Slingbox solo so I can only attest to the ability to remotely use the ViP622. It works as you might expect but it highly dependent on your Internet connection in terms of the PQ.

I don't recommend channel surfing or a lot of skipping jumping around because it throws off the compression engine.

Its my understanding that there is a USB port on the Slingbox.

I read on amazon that one might be able to use the USB port to view content on a attached HDD.

Is this a current functionality or future use case to be added 'soon'?

I believe the USB port on the SlingCatcher can play media files from an ext. HDD.

On the SlingBox the USB port is still a mystery. Maybe something they have planned for a future firmware upgrade.
