Hope this is the right forum to post this. There used to be a thread about Slingbox compatibility with PC and now I can’t find it.

My question is, which model(s) Slingboxes will still work even if the company stops maintaining its servers and completely shuts down? I seem to recall there being one or two.

All up to and including the last one that will work is the Pro HD model as far as I know. I am not sure of the 350 and 500 older models that came after the pro HD. I have tried with the current M1 an M2 and it will not.

However those previous ones will not work with many of the current apps. They will work with a PC and the older sling program that allows you to input the ID number, internet address, port etc. That program will connect directly to the device. Also most (maybe all) those older ones will work with the current online system but not if you use the old PC program. After using the old program the online one will make you re-set up the device.
I am hoping for the best and Sling continues to support connections. They still sell the newest models so I have to think it will be years till it all ends.

All of the "apps" would probably get kinda wonky if Sling didn't offer their box finding service that serves up your home Internet IP address for the apps.

It took me a while to find this but here's the app compatibility matrix:

Slingbox.com - Which SlingPlayer software works with my Slingbox?

Make sure you read the footnotes as some apps are only useful for setting up a box. I'm not sure if the Windows 8 software works with Windows 10.

Is this one of them? Slingbox Solo Model SB260-100 Digital Media Streamer | eBay

Just thought I'd post an update. I found an SB260-100 on Ebay for $17 and it has been working flawlessly. I purchased it to "sling" content from my FTA Ku receiver. I'm considering getting another one to sling content from my Wally receiver. It appears that the SB260-100 can only handle one connection at a time, since there is only one set of audio inputs on the back. Would my best bet be to get a second one, or is there a better option?
