Smithsonian, Africa Channel

Dish carried Smithsonian for a very short period. Why did they drop this channel? The HD looks exceptional but it is gone. Also the Africa Channel is out and rumored going to D* in the next list. Any chance E*will pick it up? Other channel is National Geographic Wild will debut later this month replacing Fox Reality Channel. Will E* replace Fox Reality with this channel? Any info will be appreciated.

Our cable company had the Africa channel in clear QAM a while back.... I checked it out and didn't find anything worth watching.

Smithsonian was great, while it lasted. All HD, and the shows ran for nearly the full hour, without ads.

But in the short while we had it, they didn't seem to have a lot of programming ready. Same shows every 3 weeks or so...

It was more like every three hours.
