Hi, folks. I have just got a 722 and 1000.2 dish. I can get 110 and 119 great (they were on my old 500 system) but 129 is blocked (neighbor's house is in the way).

I'm wondering if I can use the dish500 for 110 and 119, and point the 1000.2 at 61.5
or Vice Versa.

BTW, I have a DLP44 switch, so I have enough inputs available.

Any gotchas with this setup? Or should I get the 1000.4 and go eastern arc completely..

Thanks!

Yes, you can do that, but the big gotcha is that 20 or so of the most recent HD nationals have not been added to 61.5, but rather to the 72 orbital location. So if you go with a hybrid setup, you will be missing those channels. Another potential gotcha is that Dish no longer supports a hybrid setup (61.5/110/119), so more channels might go missing at any time.

You can try the 1000.4 and get all the National HD and not need 119 and 110 (depending on what sat your locals are on. Or you can use two dish 500's (one for 119 and 110 and the other for 61.5 and 72) using all DP lnb's with the DPP44 switch.

I presently have a dish 1000.4 with a dish 1000.2 with lnb adapter to use just for 110 , run to the in port. So 77/72.7/61.5/110 in my check switch. This way I can get AAD distant networks for this fall when the new season starts.

Hi, because you have the Dish 1000.2 and a Dish 500 now you might consider using the 119 and 129 slots (10 degree spread) from the Dish 1000.2 and set it up on 61.5 and 72.7 (11.2 degree spread) then put the Dish 500 back on 110/119.

Just another option that might work well for you.

Later, DC
