Just upgraded to 622 from the old 6000(?). I'm a single
mode kind of guy. Output on HD looks good, but the
non-HD tvs that are scattered around the house show
SD as a square pic, distorted. How do I correct it.

Actually, if I'm on an HD channel (ESPN-HD), then the
picture on the regular TVs displays okay.

AND, when I upgraded, Dish said 722, but when installer
came out it was 622. Is that right?

jwtgeo,
Yes, through TV2....is there anyother way?
AFAIK, all outputs from the 622 are active at all times. So you could output S-video or composite from TV1 as well as HD (HDMI, component) to both SD and HD TV's. If the output for TV1 is set for a 16:9 TV, the picture would be distorted through the s-video and composite outputs to a 4:3 TV. But if you are using the TV2 output, this shouldn't be an issue. Have you tried the format button on the bottom left of the remote?

Edit: by looking at garys post below, I should say that this shouldn't be an issue "in dual mode".

All channels should be stretched when on sd tv's while in single mode. (If you set up this way you have to set back to normal when on HD tv.

All channels should be normal when on sd tv's while in dual mode.

It does not matter how it is hooked up on second tv's as the receiver is set for 16:9 on the HD tv. You can either switch to dual user or put up with changing format everytime you change tv types.

Dish should de-link HD and SD output format like they have with the ViP 211.

On the 211 you can adjust the aspect ratio of SD and HD outputs separately, works much better with my Stand Alone TiVo.
