I noticed that ST HD channels are the same channels as their SD broadcast, without the "-1" after the channel number. Whereas EI HD channels still have the "-1" after them. Does anyone know why this is? Why does EI HD still require us to enter the channel number followed by "-1"?

As an Extra Innings subscriber, I have to wonder about this too. I know every game is in HD for the NFL, but even the SD games on Extra Innings have come from the HD channel with bar on the sides in my experience. Maybe there is the odd feed of a game or two that DirecTV and Extra Innings are only able to get in SD and they use the -1 to avoid confusion.

On the other site, someone suggested that it is due to the fact that every game on ST is in HD, but this is not the case for EI. If a game is only in SD and you have the "Hide SD Duplicates" checked on your receiver, then you will not be able to see the game. By putting the "-1" after the channel, the SD channels will still appear even if this option is selected. This makes sense.

For the most part, just about every EI game was broadcast in HD on EI on Direct anyway, even if one of the two feeds were not in HD.

ST only has one feed, the network feed, and it is always in HD.

Last year every game on ST was in HD as well, but they still used the "-1" for the HD feed. This was probably because the HD feed was a separate package, and now it is included as part of the standard ST package

As am I. I do like the fact that I do not have to enter "-1" just to watch an HD game

I had the ST before it was the ST with my C-Band dish, no commercial breaks and the commentary was interesting when they did go to commercial... ;) Starting with the Colts game in the living room, will end up in the HT room in a little while...

It is interesting watching the mix channel and seeing the same commercials on each feed, with some feeds a few seconds to a whole minute ahead of the others

The removal of -1 was announced for this year. I assume EI will get same treatment next season

Yes, I always enjoyed the Commercial free feeds.
The Wild feeds I wish were still available.
They should do them with the NASCAR Hot Pass when your watching the that particular channel.

likely not as MLB is mosty rsn remaps and some of rsn do not have over flows in HD / all over flows games in HD. also some of OTA feeds are SD only at this time.

Same thing with the BIG TEN over flows -1 rsn alts -1 VS alt -1.

maybe they get rid of the -1 on the mlb mix.
