Since BBQ season has started.... I marinade steaks 8-24hours before grilling.
This particular recipe I find absolutely delicious.

1/3 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons dried basil
1 1/2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional)
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic (optional)

I used it again last night on a 8 month long frozen (vac sealed) sirloin..excellent results.

Cheers, K

Prime steak. salt. Pepper. Beef fat or clarified butter. That's all you need.

I marinade nothing. Rather, I buy high-quality Rib-Eye fresh steaks at Costco and sear 'em immediately for around 4-minutes on each side for a perfectly delectable medium-rare steak. Any steak grilled more than medium-rate is a overdone IMO.

4 minutes per side? what temp is your BBQ at? Lid open or closed? I grill w/ an open lid and try to stay at a steady 400degrees (grill can exceed 700degress of am not paying attention)

I agree about the medium cook and Costco does have some good beef but I never seen any Rib-Eyes there... must be a regional thing.

Depends on the mood for me, not on the cut.

From sirloin to filet.

Sometimes I do my own marinade, I have a good bourbon one, sometimes it's salt and pepper, and sometimes it's store bought, which can be just as good.

A nice medium rare/medium filet with an actual store marinade. About to chow down.
