Too bad, I liked that show. I'm wondering if the real reason is that its too dangerous to film in Portland, OR these days.

They can shoot anywhere in the country to make it look like Portland even Canada.

The show was filmed in LA, not Portland. Cancellation had everything to do with the pandemic pushing back the timeframe when season 2 could be ready -- not until next spring, which ABC decided was too late for them.

Given that the show is produced by Disney/ABC, the most likely scenario for its survival is to either become a Hulu Original or move to FX (which would result in it also streaming next-day on Hulu).
