The Super Joey is currently not available at this time. DIRT has not received any communication on a release date. We also cannot pre-approve anyone for an upgrade. We will be sure to update this thread with any information as we receive it. Thanks!

Thanks for the update, sure would be easier if Dish would allow ordering through the website when available, just like a new customer signup.

and it only works with a single Hopper. The extra two tuners give you 5 satellite tuners at all times. If you had a Hopper equipped with an OTA dongle and a Super Joey you could actually record nine things at the same time and watch something already recorded....

You don't get more family than this... ;)

So what is the real purpose and why do people think it is better than the regular joey? So far I haven't seen anything that makes it unique.

Have you not read the thread that details the Super Joey? Basically you can turn a Hopper and Joey setup from 3 tuners to 5 tuners by swapping out the Joey with a Super Joey. Not only does it give you 5 tuners now but it's all fully integrated. The monthly fee for a Super Joey is $10. This will be great for households that only have a Hopper and 1-3 Joeys but have multiple people in the house with different viewing habits. Three tuners is not enough for a family of 3 or 4 and the addition of 2 tuners can help a lot.

Don't forget that Dish has a way to compete with DirecTV's 5 tuner Genie now.

$10 a month for a Super Joey? You have to be kidding.

I have a Super-Duper Joey for free every month, also known as an Ipad, Android, or Kindle Fire connected via hdmi or just watch on the device itself.

Shame your "Super-Duper Joey" can't add an additional two fully-integrated tuners to the Hopper system like the actual Super Joey will. ;)

(yeah...I know that not everyone needs/wants the additional tuners, but I'm actually looking forward to having them!)

What should they charge for it? Your iPad, Android and Kindle do not ad any additional tuners to the Hopper system. All they do is allow you to watch TV on that device and it uses one of the current 3 tuners. I don't find what you said to be a fair comparison at all.

I myself think the Super Joey is a pretty good idea even though it does nothing for my setup. I think it's going to help a lot of people who currently do not feel they have enough tuners for their needs. Customer pays and extra $3 to add 2 more tuners or they can pay $5 more, get a second Hopper and get 3 more tuners. Seems to be a small price to pay to keep the whole family happy.
